My Messy Closet Under the Stairs....

Is now an organized mess, thanks to my mans crafty hands. He often watched me struggle loading and unloading the closet, trying to locate just the right paper, ribbon, rubber stamps, etc.
Then one day a couple weeks ago he said what if we get more plastic containers for all that paper and make another sturdy paper holder.  It's similar to the 1st one he made me, but without the fancy finish (you can see the 1st on here http://mymanscraftyhands.blogspot.com/2011/09/my-custom-deluxe-12x12-paper-storage_18.html.

So here's some before and after pic's of the "messy closet under the stairs" and my new paper shelf w/ two little handy drawers at the top....
This is the closet before, with most of the paper is already out.
Here's some of the homeless paper, we're trying to organize.

Here's the awesome shelf my husband made to hold all my paper :):):)

Here's everything back in.
He even extended the closets existing shelf & added an additional florescent light to the shelf.

Now all the paper containers are labeled and much, much easier to get to.

This is my boy Randall, he's trying to figure out how he can use our new and improved closet ;)
Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday weekend!

Wow... DH Is On A Roll!

Here's my mans latest creation, it's a beautiful cat intarsia, made especial for me :):):)  It turned out so awesome, he used 5 different types of wood to create this beauty.  I've named him "Starling"!

So here it is...

My DH's second intarsia all finished... It's a little Santa bear.  I'm so proud of my husband and how nice he finished this project.  If you recall, me mentioning before he was never much into finish work and with intarsia, it's pretty much all about the finish work (the sanding & staining).
Hope you like it!

DIY Scroll Saw Stand...

Here's a great little project my husband came up with for his scroll saw.  He's wanted a stand for it for a while now, but didn't want to pay $100.00 for one. So, he pulled together some of his scrap wood & here's what he came up with.

My husbands newest woodworking project is a whale he made using a technique called intarsia
(meaning: intarsia  a form or method of decoration, dating from the Renaissance, consisting of inlaid, mosaiclike patterns, especially of wood.)

Since he's never made one before... He found a simple & free beginners pattern at Intarsia.com, to start out with and he made this bad boy in less than a days time.  I'm so proud of him, it turned out awesome, don't ya think?
